Group Therapy: Healing in Community

Experience the power of shared understanding and mutual support on your journey to wellness.

Group therapy brings together individuals facing similar challenges or working toward common goals in a supportive, therapeutic environment.

Led by a licensed therapist, group members share experiences, offer mutual support, and learn from one another while developing new coping skills and insights in a safe, confidential setting.

THE TESS APPROACH TO GROUP THERAPY

At TESS, our group therapy programs are carefully designed with trauma-informed principles at their core.

We understand that healing happens in relationships, and our groups provide a unique opportunity for members to experience corrective emotional experiences within a supportive community.

Our groups are structured yet flexible, combining psychoeducational elements with process-oriented discussions and experiential activities. We use evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based interventions, and somatic awareness techniques, all adapted for the group setting.

We carefully screen and prepare group members to ensure a good fit and maintain psychological safety for all participants. Our skilled facilitators create an environment where vulnerability is honored, boundaries are respected, and each member's unique journey is valued. We focus on building connections, reducing isolation, and helping members recognize they are not alone in their struggles.

Groups at Trauma Education and Support Services address various themes including trauma recovery, anxiety and depression management, life transitions, grief and loss, and relationship challenges. Each group is designed to foster both individual growth and collective healing, recognizing that we often heal best in community with others who truly understand our experiences.
